As part of EUKN's support for the preparations of the upcoming Portuguese EU Council Presidency, this Policy Lab is organised in close cooperation with the Directorate-General for Territory and will take place on 15 April 2021 (14:00 - 17:00 CET). The event has three main objectives:

  • Identifying the features and challenges of a ‘new generation’ of urban policies that require intensified policy coherence & policy integration;

  • Providing a learning platform for Member States on effective governance processes that help achieve such intensified policy coherence & integration;

  • Using the Circular Economy as a concrete element to be addressed by this new generation of urban policies: the recently established Portuguese National Circular Cities Initiative (InC2) with its experimental approach and working methods will serve as a ‘learning gateway’.

The learnings and reflections gathered during the webinar will contribute to a compact policy paper outlining general features and challenges of the new generation of urban policies as well as providing recommendations for Member States on how to tackle the identified challenges.

The webinar will take place on Zoom in English.
